This is great! Of course in this day and age you can find pretty much everything you need to know on the internet, and I've done a good bit of gardening research in that fashion, but there is something comfortable and satisfying about sitting down with a book in your hands. Tons of info. Helping me to (I hope!) develop at least a little bit of a green thumb and grow some good veggies and pretty flowers this year! Highly recommend.

This has been a great resource. I pick it up all the time to read sections. At first I read straight through the first couple of chapters (Book 1). After wards I just picked it up according to what I needed to know. There is a Book about roses, annuals, perennials, etc. It is also is great at listing them, like the most common bugs, the most common herbs to grow and how. Really a good book for a beginner like me that needs to know a little about a lot.

This book is worth every cent. I am fairly new to gardening and this has made it so much easier, not only for tree and plant identification but for the confidence it gives to new gardeners. It is well organized and well written. Makes it easier to pick out plants appropriate to your area and outlines how best to care for them. I love this book It gives the novice gardener the support to cut, trim, mulch and plant trees, shrubs and flowers with confidence. Happy Gardening !!

I haven't read all the stand alone versions, but I recommend this as a great gardening guide. However, I do own Perrenials for Dummies, and a few parts are missing. Not much though. It would be quite redundant to buy both, unless you get the single topic book used. I keep it handy alk season, great problem solving guide, just look in the index. Covers lawns too, which is nice. I want my grass to look nice, because beautiful beds surrounded by a scraggly lawn just don't cut it.

From What I've had the chance to look over and read this book I think it's going to be quite informative and enjoyable to get into and try some of the new idea's they've put in there. I'm glad for all the pictures and illustrations that are in the book. The main thing I can say about this purchase is:I'm glad I now own this book and that it's now in our house.

Great info!

Great for beginners. It doesn't go into the science behind what your doing, it just shows you how to do it. This isn't a bad thing but I enjoy learning why things are done.

Very helpful guide. The descriptions of the recommended techniques for caring for all kinds of perennials and annuals are very helpful and are accompanied by helpful illustrations. The book deconstructs the jargon that keeps newbies from becoming experts. I'm thankful to have found this gem.
